Progression

Although candidates move through the didactic curriculum as a class, the progression with clinical work and advancement through the program is individualized. Monitoring of each candidates development and approval of his or her readiness to progress through each step of the program is made by the Executive Committee based on input provided by the Progression Committee.

Soon after acceptance, a faculty advisor is appointed for each candidate and serves as an academic advisor and liaison with the Progression Committee. After the first year, candidates are encouraged to select their own advisor. To facilitate communication and insure an optimal educational experience, candidates are expected to meet with their advisors at least twice a year on a regular basis.
