The Atlanta Foundation for Psychoanalysis

Dear Friend of psychoanalysis,

We hope 2009 has been a more rewarding year for you than the last, in 2008. Because so many of our loyal supporters faced unexpected financial challenges, the board decided not to ask for donations to underwrite our work. Now that the economy has improved, we hope that we can count on you to continue our projects on behalf of the Psychoanalysis in Atlanta.

Contributions from the Foundation's supporters help to finance the Society's monthly scientific programs, the newsletter, the website, and the foundation's outreach to the community. Attendance grows steadily as the excellence of the meetings and their availability to the professional community becomes well known. Because the Atlanta Society for Psychoanalysis is small, and the costs of presenting important scientific information are great, the Society counts on the Foundation to help defray expenses.

The Anna Project is by all accounts a great success, due to the generosity of the teaching consultants: Drs. Katherine Franch, Sybil Ginsburg, and Kathy Shands. Their knowledge and enthusiasm have forged a mutually rewarding relationship with the teachers of the Frazer Center. Because of the economic climate we scaled back our plans with the Center but hope to enact those when the time is right.

We thank Eileen Piasecki for designing and editing the newsletter. The newsletter is a vital link among the three subdivisions of Atlanta Psychoanalysis and is our information center and bulletin board for the community. Be sure to check it often to learn about scientific meetings and Movie Mania dates. Go to Google and input 'Atlanta Psychoanalysis' to find our site. We are looking for a volunteer with professional and newsletter experience to fill the position of online editor. We have a technical assistant but need an editor.

We recognize there are many requests for your support and promise we will use your contribution carefully to bring psychoanalytic knowledge to Atlanta's professional and public community. Thank you for your past support and any contribution you can make this year.
